The Challenge is Ours...Commitment From Everyone, Excellence For Everyone
A MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT PUCKETT
The academic achievements of our students are often measured by grades and test scores, but assessing our students’ learning through their performances is insightful, meaningful and enjoyable. As we move into the holiday seasons, opportunities to experience student performances are plentiful throughout the district. Greencastle Community Schools provide abundant opportunities for students to display their creative talents through performance.
Most recently, the Greencastle High School Theater Department produced the musical, Pippen, featuring musical and theatrical talents of dozens of students. In the coming weeks, the high school music department will feature both vocal and instrumental performances in their Holiday Music Concert on December 8, while Greencastle Middle School will do the same on December 2. A Highlight of the middle school concert will be the performance of the GMS Jazz Band which works with the DePauw School of Music students. All of these concerts will be held in the Parker Auditorium.
The Tzouanakis Intermediate Choir gave a Patriotic Program on October 30, and will present the musical, Summer Camp next semester on Feb. 26 and 27. Our primary students gave performances at Ridpath at the annual pancake supper on Nov. 13, and the Deer Meadow students will sing at the Holiday in the Meadow performance on Dec. 4.
If you’re looking for entertainment in the arts, come and join us at these upcoming music and theater department performances. You won’t be disappointed.
