High Ability

  • All students benefit from enrichment and other "high ability" strategies
  • Teachers should have high expectations for all students
  • Schools should offer enrichment opportunities for all students
  • All students should learn new content every day
  • All teachers should have training in enrichment strategies
  • An IQ score is not the only criteria for determining "giftedness"
  • Schools and families share in the responsibility of meeting the needs of high ability students
  • High ability students have special needs and programming should include least restrictive environment
  • Identification of high ability students is not an exact science
  • High ability students need the opportunity to work with students of like ability
